Background:

I studied Biomathematics at the University of Greifswald, Germany. The focus of my studies were statistics and genetics. I have spent my 7th semester at the Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Afterwards, I had an internship at the Allan Wilson Centre for Molecular Ecology and Evolution (Pete Lockhart's group) in New Zealand for another three month. In 2011-2012 I wrote my Diploma thesis ("Exploiting Protein Coevolution for the Prediction of Protein-Protein-Interfaces") at the Bioinformatics group of Mario Stanke at the Department of Mathmatics and

Computer Science of the University Greifswald.

Starting spring 2012, I was a PhD student in Peter Stadler's group in Leipzig and a part of Steve Hoffmanns's junior research group.
